We had the pleasure of hearing Katja talk about her experiences as an elite athlete and a professional sailor at our section day. Our section day had knowledge sharing and collaboration as the theme, and Katja delivered an excellent talk about just that! Katja is clearly a very good speaker. The talk was very engaging, and Katja willingly shared all her experiences from her Olympic campaign and her professional career of sailing. Katja’s talk was very inspiring and taught us about how she has worked every day to towards becoming the world’s best at sailing. Systematically working with knowledge sharing, feedback, collaboration, and communication. She even shared her tools in a very concrete way – such that we could learn from it and get inspired in our own work. The talk was a great starting point for discussion and reflections. Thanks for a GREAT day. Katja did damn well. It’s not always easy to keep 20-30 accountants/finance people entertained for an hour, especially after lunch, but that’s no problem for Katja. She come with an insanely cool energy, a very engaging body language and good eye contact during your lecture. It is quite clear that this is not the first time Katja have done something like this 😊 It was insanely good Katja!
I had the chance to get to know Katja during the Bocconi Sailing Weekend in Lerici, Italy.
She was in the same Boat with our team and was able to teach us about sailing, how to work together as a team and use even the adverse conditions of the sea and wind to our benefits.
Later that evening, Katja gave an inspiring speech about what does it mean to be a sailor, what her role as a strategist is and why teamwork is fundamental to win when competing with the best in class.
Katja is an exceptional young talent with a great capability to inspire and motivate people.
Our Olympic partners in DIF & Team Danmark Kommerciel support the Danish athletes and make it possible to excell with the elite and stand widely in the associational life of Danish sports – that is why we want to give back and inspire and motivate our Olympic partners and their employees and managers, with tools and stories from the world of sports, via athletes, sports experts, coaches, etc. We facilitate a number of presentations at our events, with our Olympic athletes, and Katja Salskov-Iversen is one of our popular presenters, who with her Olympic journey and success, and current SailGP career, delivers a super inspiring presentation about the community, motivation, dual career, life skills, the Danish model, communication, sustainability and many other elements that our partner’s employees can use in their work and daily life afterwards. Katja is also part of our Team ISS, where she is particularly closely connected and gives the ISS employees extra attention and learnings – both for the ISS Danish department and ISS World, which has a lot of foreign employees, where Katja runs everything in English.
We had 40 customers gathered for a day on the water when The Ocean Race visited Aarhus. For lunch at the Aarhus International Sailing Center, we were joined by Katja Salskov-Iversen.
It was an insightful view into Katja’s life as a young professional sailor and competitor. Katja gave us a glimpse into how she finds motivation under challenging conditions and for competitions. A lecture about dedication and teamwork and the mindset required for a sailor at the top level. And with “splashes” of pictures and videos from behind the scenes, it gave all the guests a realistic experience of what yacht racing and teamwork at the highest level require, and not least, Katja’s talent and dedication to sailing.
As part of Team Rockwool Denmark, Katja has, on many occasions, given inspirational speeches to ROCKWOOL employees, customers, and partners. Her speeches delve into the thrilling world of professional sailing where teamwork, communication, and performance are key topics. Listening to Katja’s stories from the sea is engaging, and exploring the mindset of a passionate Olympic medalist and high-performance athlete is really inspiring. Katja’s ability to relate her own experiences to real-world lessons that can be applied within organizations to increase performance and motivation for employees and their teams, is super valuable.
Oracle had the pleasure of Katja talking about her journey towards the Olympics and about the path to becoming a professional sailor on the Danish SailGP Team. Katja is a super inspiring narrator, and the participants got, in addition to a fantastic account of Katja’s way to the stars, an insight into the athlete’s focus on constant improvement and performance – a story that can easily be translated into our own working lives, where improvements and results are the focal point every single day. I can strongly recommend Katja as a lecturer and inspirer.
